The Plant Kingdom Garden Center opened in 1998 and quickly made its home the most colorful corner in St. Matthews and Louisville.

Shelly A. Nold and Anthony (Tony) E. Nold, the principals of The Plant Kingdom, bring a combined 50 plus years of extensive and diverse experience to the store. Both are recognized leaders in the horticulture industry in the state of Kentucky.

Tony played an integral role in designing and developing two of the most beautiful public gardens in Kentucky, the Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest and Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom.

Shelly has served as Horticulture Agent for the University of Kentucky and the Executive Director of the Kentucky Nursery and Landscape Association. She is currently gardening columnist for Kentucky Living Magazine and landscape design instructor for the University of Louisville Options Program.

Also on staff are industry experts Andy Smart, Certified Arborist;  Owen Halterman; and Angie McManus, along with other experienced and qualified individuals. The professional team at The Plant Kingdom has the knowledge and talent help you grow the garden of your dreams!
